HOTEL_ACCOMMODATION_TERMS
Hotel & Accommodation Terms
Version 1.0.0-draft · effective 2026-09-08 · applies to all users
Obligations of hotels, guesthouses and other accommodation providers.
Provider classification
Accommodation and experience providers are classified as private host, landlord, property manager, agent, hotel, resort, guesthouse, hostel, serviced apartment, tour operator, experience provider or service provider. Regulated businesses are held to the additional requirements for their class.
Provider responsibilities
- Holding and maintaining the licences and registrations required where the property operates.
- Accurate room descriptions, amenities, photographs, pricing and availability.
- Health and safety obligations, guest policies and house rules.
- Tax and tourism obligations that apply to the business.
- Clear refund and cancellation rules, honoured as published.
- Compliance with local law generally.
Licence information versus MiMiSpot verification
MiMiSpot never displays a claim of government licensing unless an appropriate, current, government-issued authorization has been verified. The MIMISPOT VERIFIED badge and a LICENSE INFORMATION VERIFIED status are separate and mean different things.
Document expiry
Compliance documents record when they were verified and when they expire, with a status of valid, expiring, expired or review required. Expired documentation for a regulated business triggers administrative review. Transaction history is never deleted as part of that review.
Reporting
- Fraudulent accommodation listings.
- Materially inaccurate listings.
- Unsafe property conditions.
- Closed or non-existent properties.
- Impersonation of a business or person.
- Licensing concerns.
