PAYMENTS_AND_REFUNDS
Payments & Refunds
Version 1.0.0-draft · effective 2026-09-08 · applies to all users
Billing currency, display currency, settlement and refunds.
Three different currencies
- Billing currency — the canonical currency in which a subscription or platform service is priced and charged: USD.
- Display currency — the currency used to show you an estimate, including SLE for Sierra Leone, converted using the MiMiSpot-administered USD to SLE rate.
- Settlement currency — the currency in which a provider or MiMiSpot is finally paid, which depends on the payment processor and the parties' accounts.
SLE estimates are estimates
An SLE figure shown next to a USD price is an informational estimate produced with the MiMiSpot-administered exchange rate. It is not a guarantee that your bank, card issuer or mobile-money provider will use the same rate.
Cross-border charges
Depending on your provider you may incur currency conversion charges, bank charges, card issuer charges, international transaction charges or processor fees. MiMiSpot cannot guarantee a third party's conversion rate or fees.
Payment security
- MiMiSpot never stores raw card numbers, CVV/CVC values, magnetic stripe data, online banking credentials, mobile-money PINs or payment account passwords.
- Payments are handled through approved processors using tokens and processor identifiers.
- MiMiSpot will never ask for payment credentials through messaging, support chat, property chat, email or reviews. Treat any such request as fraud and report it.
Refunds
Refund outcomes follow the cancellation and refund policy captured in the transaction's legal snapshot at the time of the transaction. A later policy change does not rewrite an existing transaction.
